Monday Mems #4: River
Northern California's topography allows its inhabitants to be in arm's reach of almost every type of natural environment. In about 3 hours, a person in Santa Rosa can get in their car and arrive at world class ski resorts. In 30 minutes, that same person can drive west, and arrive in Bodega Bay and enjoy the beaches it has to offer. Our client, who had previously worked as a student advisor at the school where all 4 of Rigo's kids had attended, decided he would take advantage of vet another one of northern California's environments and work as a river tour guide for a company that operated in the Russian River. In an attempt to fully immerse himself into his new environment, he purchased a home that sat on, close to, an acre of hill and lush forest. Like with most of his clients, Rigo had developed a close relationship with this client. Having completed some home renovation projects at the clients' Windsor home, Rigo felt confident in being able to take on the new deck his client wanted to build around the back of his new home. The hilly topography created a few challenges in the building process, but Rigo and his crew overcame them to create a space that the client was ultimately pleased with. In a generous display of gratitude, the client invited Rigo to his home to celebrate this new space and meet some of his friends and family. Rigo quickly realized that he had not only made some new friends and met some future clients but he had also found a community. This was a community of people who cared deeply about their spaces. Whether it was their immediate spaces like their bathrooms or their extended spaces like the river or their environments. It is with this longing for creating community oriented projects that RB Constructed has thrived over the vears. And it is with this sense of community that RB Construction approaches each and every project.
