Tip #3: “Clean Ya’ Garbage Disposals!”

Garbage disposals make clean up in the kitchen much more efficient, and, consequently, have become staples in modern kitchens. If you have a garbage disposal in your home, cleaning it regularly is essential to maintain its functionality and prevent unpleasant odors from permeating your kitchen. While it may be tempting to call a professional to do the job, cleaning your garbage disposal is a task you can easily do on your own.

Why Clean Your Own Garbage Disposal?

1. It's Easy: Cleaning your garbage disposal is a simple process that can be done in just a few minutes with a few household items. All you need is some dish soap, baking soda, and vinegar. You can find detailed instructions online or in your garbage disposal's instruction manual.

2. It Saves Money: Hiring a professional to clean your garbage disposal can be expensive. By doing it yourself, you'll save money while still ensuring that your garbage disposal is clean and healthy.

3. It Reduces Odors: Over time, food particles and grime can build up in your garbage disposal, leading to unpleasant odors. Regular cleaning with baking soda, vinegar, and dish soap can help prevent these odors from developing.

4. It Increases Longevity: A clean garbage disposal is a happy garbage disposal. When you clean your disposal regularly, you'll reduce the chances of clogs and mechanical problems that can shorten the life of your appliance.
